The DGC Glider Fleet

Darlton Gliding Club owns a fleet of five gliders consisting of dual and single seat aircraft, all of which are available for use by club members.

Two K13s (G-CJGW & G-CJFM)

The K13 glider is the workhorse of many gliding clubs, including Darlton! We have two of these basic two-seat trainers, in use year round for training and solo flying. Most of our members learned to fly in one of these craft.

K8 (G-CGEG)

The K8 is a single seat glider, well suited to early solo pilots. Its characteristics endear the K8 to more advanced pilots too!

Sport Vega (G-DEFW)

The Sport Vega is a single seat glider of GRP ("glass") construction offering a higher level of performance for more advanced solo pilots.

Janus (G-DDTC)

The Janus is an advanced, flapped, two-seater glass glider. It is used for advanced flying and cross-country training.

Members of the club may maintain and fly their own private gliders at the airfield. A Falke motor glider is also operated from Darlton by a syndicate of club members, and this can be made available to any member for use in specialised training exercises.
