Gliding Experiences
- Trial Flights
- for those wanting to taste the sensation of soaring flight;
- Mini–Courses
- for those who seek a little more challenge, taking the first steps to understand and control the glider;
Full courses, catering for those wanting to progress that bit further are also available. And if thats still not enough, or you are bitten by the gliding bug after trying one of the options above, consider joining the club and benefiting from regular free instruction provided by our cadre of qualified instructors. New members can also choose a fixed–price to solo package.
We can also arrange Friday Evening Flying Events for organised groups in the summer months.
Who can Fly?
There are surprisingly few restrictions on who can enjoy gliding. Generally, if you are fit enough to drive a car, you are fit enough to fly. Disabilities need not prevent someone from taking a trial lesson, and age is no handicap (just watch this news clip from our club). Safety considerations and aircraft loading limitations do, however, mean that very small children or individuals weighing over 16 st (116 kg) may not be able fly with us.
If you have any questions about suitability, why not contact our Bookings Coordinator here ; or telephone or visit the club on a flying day (see calendar opposite) to get advice.
More Information ...
All our trial flight and short course packages include a 30 day temporary club membership after your flight. This means that, if you enjoyed the experience enough, you can return and fly at club member rates, with FREE instruction, during the following month.
