Darlton Gliding Club is a BGA accredited Junior Gliding Centre, and we particularly welcome and encourage younger members.
The club offers student and junior members a much reduced annual membership fee and half price flying fees. Many of our junior members have also secured bursaries to further support their costs while learning to fly.

How Old?
Junior membership covers all those under the age of 18, and students in full-time education below the age of 25.
How Young?
The minimum age to fly solo is 14, but pilots can learn and fly with an instructor before then. Many do so, some progressing to a first solo flight on, or shortly after, their 14th birthday.
Sponsorship
The Caroline Trust offers bursaries that support young people (15+) to take up gliding.
