Me and my family spent the day here yesterday and we had such an enjoyable afternoon! Everyone was really nice and helpful! They made you feel at ease and was happy to answer any questions we had. We would definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone!

Really loved my silver gliding course today with the Darlton gliding club guys. Very friendly, lots of fun, great having a go at the controls having not flown for around 10 years! Will definitely take advantage of the 1 months membership included with them. Highly recommend!

Had a fabulous weekend camping and gliding with our Scouts, 24 took to the air for the first time. They learnt so much. Thank you all for making us so welcome with special thanks to Al for all your hard work and preparation and Simon one of my Scouts from years back great to see you again and thanks for taking me up!

Just arrived back from a fantastic weekend at Darlton Gliding club. The club members were welcoming and helpful throughout. 24 scouts left very happy after a wonderful experience of flying and gaining so much knowledge about the gliders and weather etc. Thank you again and an extra thank you to Al & Simon Brown! 🙂

Had a fantastic time, experiencing gliding for the first time on Saturday. The weather was great, so views and visibility were amazing from 5000ft. A great bunch of people, keen to share their knowledge and passion for gliding. A very relaxed atmosphere, yet safe and professional. Gliding is not as expensive as most would imagine. I would recommend anyone to give it a go!

Came yesterday 29th July for my husband to have a single launch flight which I had bought him a voucher for his birthday we regularly pass by on the way to our daughters and he'd always said he wondered what it would be like after having had a Cessna flight for a previous birthday present. We were welcomed by a great bunch of guys and Simon who took him up explained everything to him and put him at ease. He thoroughly enjoyed his flight and will readily return to repeat the experience. Thank you to all involved in our visit it was money very well spent.

After trying a Cessna, bulldog and helicopter we thought it was time my husband nigel tried gliding. We bought him a half day experience at darlton which 2nd time lucky he managed to do today. He absolutely loved it, thanks to the instructors who were brilliant and everyone made us all feel totally welcome, definitely value for money and a great experience thankyou guys.

Me & my dad had vouchers for here & loved it! £40 is well worth it for the experience! David was a great pilot! Was confident enough to calm you & let you take over controls without being too serious or overbearing! The whole team at the club make you & any watching family feel very welcome!

I used to drive past Darlton on summer Fridays and watch the gliders soaring in the clouds and approaching the airfield over the road. One Saturday, nearly four years ago I came up with the bright idea of bringing my eldest son for a trial flight, just for something to do. He was 10 at the time. We were both instantly hooked by the experience and grateful for the friendly welcome and decided to commit to learning to fly, which as it turns out is not only great fun but also ve... ry affordable, especially for juniors where the cost of learning to fly is a fraction of what you'd imagine. The club is small enough that everybody knows everybody and there are always enough enthusiastic instructors on hand on flying days to make sure everybody gets what they want out of it. Now three years later my son is almost ready to fly solo and I'm a committee member and learning to be an instructor!! I can't recommend it enough for youngsters of all ages itching to get their feet off the ground for the experience, for the bucket list or as a learning experience for recreation or the first step on a career in professional aviation - the basics are the same.
